newly crowned champions of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League, Wa All

acknowledged the effort of the coaching staff, playing body and the fans
for a job well done. "This is a true team victory, and all of you
deserve to share in the accolades: the players and coach of course, but
also the technical and medical staff and, not least, the loyal fans. The
dynamism and commitment of the Wa All Stars team have enabled them to
win this title".
Below is the full statement from FIFA.

Zurich, 20 September 2016
Message of Congratulations to Wa All Stars
Dear President,
Please
pass on my own personal congratulations , along with those of the whole
football family to Wa All Stars on their performance. A national
victory is a wonderful occasion and an opportunity to draw satisfaction
from a job well done.
I know that behind this success are the
belief and effort of everyone involved. This is a true team victory, and
all of you deserve to share in the accolades: the players and coach of
course, but also the technical and medical staff and, not least, the
loyal fans. The dynamism and commitment of the Wa All Stars team have
enabled them to win this title.
Football is proving more than ever
that it can transcend traditional boundaries to become a real driver of
development. It enables players at all levels to develop their
individual skills, tactical understanding and personal dynamism, while
strengtheningt team spirit. Football truly is a schoolwork life and I am
convinced that everyone , and in particular the young people of today,
can be fit from playing football on both a social and personal level.
That is why I urge them all in Wa All Stars to continue their work,
leading the way on this path of success.
Yours faithfully,
SIGNED

ADVICE TO ALL GENTLEMEN.
A queen doesn't want swag;she
wants class.Learn to have a life,don't
live other people's life.Most guys
don't have a job but they know all
the party joints. They have been to
all the clubs and birthday
functions.They don't read books that
can change their lives.Some don't
even have a bank account and don't
even know what a seminar is.Some
go to church just to charge their
phones or because the Pastor will
say hug your neighbor
of the service and then he will
search for the prettiest and well
endowed girls; they don't listen to
the Pastor.I don't know how that
adds value to one's life. You can't
sleep with all the girls and go Scot
free;you can't waste people's lives
and think yours will be spared. You
can't make women cry and think you
will always smile.A man reaps
exactly what he sows. Being a 'Big
Boy' is not in wearing pencil
trousers,sunshades,holding
Blackberry, iPhone,iPad or Galaxy,
and then cross your legs.Being a
'Big Boy' means when there is a
need and people are looking for the
one who can solve or handle it,you'll
be the one.Even when they call your
number and don't get you, they come
home looking 4 you-just like David
(1Sam.16:14-23). Being a 'Big Boy'
means being RELEVANT and not a
LIABILITY!Use your time to read
good books, work on yourself as an
individual-especially if you are
single.Attend life changing
seminars, sit with scholars and not
people who discuss football as if it's
their calling.Be like Jesus who even
at the age of 12 was found seated
amongst scholars (Luke.2:42-47).Be
with people who want to go
somewhere;sit with kings and add
value to your life.Your queen should
be proud of you and not being
laughed at because all her female
friends have dated you
before.Having numerous girlfriends
has never and will never be an
achievement.Achieve socially,academ
ically and financially.Above all,love
the Lord GREATLY with all your heart
and might and He will love you
too.Never forget also that any man
can get a woman but not every man
can get a wife. The true nature of a
wife is from God alone.(Prov.19:14).
at the end
“A FRIEND IN NEED, A FRIEND INDEED”
SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Samuel 20:30-42 & 2 Samuel 21:7
MEMORY VERSE:
A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Proverbs 18:24
David had Jonathan as a true friend who sided with him in his time of need. When King Saul, Jonathan’s father, pursued David to kill him and protect the throne for his son, Jonathan rather sought to protect his friend David even when it meant losing the throne.
Many of us in Jonathan’s shoes would have sided with Saul for our own benefit. Will you betray your friend’s confidence in you for a material gain, promotion or favour when your success is dependent on it? Ponder over it. But Jonathan refused to seek his own at the expense of David’s life.
David on his part kept his word to Jonathan and sought the welfare of his descendants as promised. So Jonathan also had a friend indeed. We likewise, can only be true friends when we have been faithful to our friends in good times and bad times too.
Do you seek what is good for your friends? And does your friend do same? Do you betray your friend in order to spare yourself? A friend in need is truly a friend indeed.
FOR MEDITATION:
• What manner of friend am I?
• What manner of friends do I have?
PRAYER:
Dear Father in Heaven, help me to be a true friend and help me to choose faithful friends who know You and will not mislead me. I pray through Jesus Christ my Savior. Amen
THOUGHT:
Insomuch as anyone pushes you nearer to God and vice versa, he or she is your friend

Marriage

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 2:24
MEMORY VERSE:
“Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit, they are His. And why one? Because He was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit; and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.” – Malachi 2:15 (NIV)
Marriage is a beautiful combination that melts two people of the opposite sex into each other, making them one full piece. God sees marriage this way and no more, for that is exactly the way He has designed it to be. Would you please see your marriage the way God sees it?
At one stage in life, you were with your parents. You did all you can to enjoy your stay as a child with them. Now you are in another stage in life, the marriage stage, apply all the biblical instructions and admonitions to your marriage to enjoy it. Above all, keep faith with the wife of your youth, till death do you part. God bless you as you do this.
MEDITATION:
I may not always feel love towards my spouse but I must always keep him/her and love him/her.
PRAYER:
May He who established marriage to be enjoyed by spouses, help me to enjoy, not endure, my marriage to the fullest.
THOUGHT:
Marriages are to be enjoyed not endured!

New Rules for 2016/2017 English Premier League Season
*_NEW RULES IN THE 2016/17 PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON_*
★ *CHANGE 1: ```Kick-off```*
The kick-off restart can now go backwards
As
seen at Euro 2016, the ball no longer has to go forward at kick-off.
The previous law stated the ball had to go into the opposition half at
the restart, but it has been changed to allow it to move in any
direction, as long as it "clearly moves". This change has paved the way
for one-man kick-offs, as seen at Euro 2016.
★ *CHANGE 2: ```Pre-match red cards```*
It will now be possible to get a red card before the match starts
Referees
will be able to give a player a red card before the match kicks off.
This allows officials to punish red-card offences (e.g. violent conduct)
in the warm-up or as the two teams line up in the tunnel. The new law
states a player may be sent off any time between the pre-match
inspection and when the referee leaves the field at the end of the game.
★ *CHANGE 3: ```An end to the 'triple-punishment law'```*
Players may only receive a yellow card if they concede a penalty
The
previous 'triple-punishment' law meant a player who denied a
goal-scoring opportunity in the box was automatically red-carded and
handed a suspension, as well as giving away a penalty.
The law
has now been changed so players committing accidental fouls that deny
goal-scoring opportunities in the penalty area will not be automatically
sent off, with a yellow card sufficient punishment.
As the
amendment states: "When a denial of a goalscoring opportunity offence is
committed by a defender in the penalty area, the penalty kick
effectively restores the goalscoring opportunity so the punishment for
the player should be less strong (e.g. a yellow card) than when the
offence is committed outside the penalty area. However, when the offence
is handball or clearly not a genuine attempt to play or challenge for
the ball, the player will be sent off."
★ *CHANGE 4: ``` Treating injuries```*
Players
will be able to receive treatment quickly on the pitch if they are
injured in a challenge that results in a yellow or red card
If
a player is fouled and hurt by an opponent who subsequently receives a
yellow or red card for the challenge, the injured player may be quickly
treated on the pitch without the need to leave the field of play.
It
was widely seen as unfair that a player injured by a serious foul was
forced off the pitch for treatment, temporarily placing the fouled team
at a numerical disadvantage.
★ *CHANGE 5: ``` Changing boots/equipment```*
Assistant referees or fourth officials will be able to check players before they return to the pitch
A
player who briefly leaves the field (e.g. to change boots) may have his
new boots checked by an assistant referee or fourth official before
returning to play.
Previously, the player required the referee's permission to return.
★ *CHANGE 6: ```Penalties```*
Feinting once the run-up is complete will result in a yellow card for the taker
Among
several minor changes to the laws regarding penalties, potentially the
most interesting is the amendment to yellow card a penalty taker who
"illegally feints" once his run-up is complete. This means slowing to a
stop immediately before shooting is not allowed, with a yellow card and
an indirect free-kick to the opposition the result.
The law does stress feinting during a run-up is still permitted.
★ *CHANGE 7: ``` Infringements by substitutes/team officials ```*
Diego Simeone watched much of Atletico Madrid's win over Malaga from the stand after he was sent off
Atletico
Madrid boss Diego Simeone was sent to the stands in April after a
member of his backroom team threw a ball onto the pitch during a La Liga
game in an attempt to interrupt an opponent's attack.
To
address what was threatening to become a growing trend, the law has been
changed so that if play is stopped due to interference from a team
official or substitute, rather than the award of an indirect free-kick
or drop ball, the referee will now award a free-kick or penalty kick to
the opposition.
★ *CHANGE 8: ``` colour of undergarments```*
Hector Bellerin's undershorts are the same colour as his shorts
The
new rule states undershorts/tights must be the same colour as the main
colour of the shorts or the lowest part of the shorts. This takes into
account shorts with a different coloured hem.
Undershirts must still be the same colour as the main colour of the shirt sleeve.
★ *CHANGE 9: ```Offside```*
The offside rule has once again been clarified
A
couple of minor clarifications to the offside rule. The law now states
the halfway line is neutral, meaning a player must have part of the body
(excluding arms or hands) in the opponents' half to be flagged offside.
A free-kick resulting from an offside will now
always take place where the offence is committed.
★ *CHANGE 10:``` Handballs```*
Yellow cards will be awarded when handballs prevent a promising attacking opportunity
In
an effort to stop referees brandishing yellow cards for every handball,
"preventing an opponent gaining possession" has been removed from the
list of bookable offences.
Handball is now a yellow card offence when "it stops/interferes with a promising attack".
★ *CHANGE 11: ```Restarts```*
When taking a corner, the ball must clearly move
The
phrase "clearly moves" has been added to the law on restarts, meaning
attempts to trick the opposition by lightly tapping the ball at a corner
(or free-kick) and then dribbling will come to an end. This amendment
is part of a renewed emphasis on what constitutes sporting behaviour
"within the spirit of the game".
⇨ *CHANGE 12: ```Player behaviour```*
Referees have been asked to clamp down on situations when players contest their decisions
Referees
have been urged to take a stronger stand on "intolerable behaviour" by
players following a joint statement by the Premier League, English
Football League and FA.
Running to contest decisions, arguing
face-to-face with officials, and "visibly disrespectful" actions will
result in yellow cards.
Red cards will be issued to players who confront officials and use insulting and/or offensive language or gestures towards them.
The
aim is to "reduce disrespectful conduct such as aggressively
challenging decisions or running from distance to confront an
official."
A complete breakdown of the amendments to the laws of the game can be found on FIFA's website.

*8 Strange Football Rules You Probably Never Knew About*
Football is a game most Ghanaians love and we can confidently say that whenever there is a match almost all the 27 million Ghanaians are coaches but do we even know the rules?
Here are 8 of them.
1. Referees Can Be Substituted
For most of our lives that we’ve watched football, it is not common to see a referee being subbed but in the Fifa soccer rules, this is accepted. If a referee is unable to continue with the match, he can be subbed with an assistant referee to take over the match.
2. The Coach Can Play For The Team If He Wants To
Many might not know this but a coach is part of the team and can sub a player and step on the pitch to play. A typical example is with Gianluca Vialli who used to play for Juventus and later coached Chelsea, he was still capable of playing and so usually subbed himself when the need arises for him to step in. So don’t be surprised when one day a coach decides to play for his team.

3. Linesmen Can Issue Cards
The assistant coach is supposed to inform the referee of offenses which happened on his blind side and decide whether to give a card. If the referee gives the mandate to the linesman, he can issue a card based on what he saw, but the responsibility lies on the referee to give the assistant referee the go ahead according to the Fifa Rule 6.
4. A player cannot be offside from a goal kick, corner or throw-in
During goal kick, corner or throw-in, even if the player is in an off-side position, it is not counted. This has caused many teams goals when they assume it is an off-side and it takes them by surprise.

5. A substitute cannot take a corner or a throw-in to restart the match
When a ball goes out for a throw-in and the team decides to sub a player, the new player who just stepped in cannot take the throw to restart the match. You probably never knew this right?
Photo: Goal
6. It is illegal for a goalkeeper to roll his sleeves up
A goalkeeper is allowed to wear long sleeves due to their role but one thing they cannot do is to roll the sleeves up to form a short sleeve, they can be given a card for that.
Image: Goal
7. A goalkeeper can’t pick the ball up again after he has let it out of his possession until another player has touched it
After catching a ball, a goalkeeper can’t pick the ball up again if he decides to drop it until another player has touched it. If he disobeys, he will receive a card, it is either for him to kick it or allow another player to pass it back to him before he can pick it up again.

8. A linesman can officiate a match
It is absolutely legal for an assistant coach to take over the match and officiate if the referee can’t continue with the match, so basically a linesman is also a referee who can do everything the main referee does.

Muntari is Forgiven but can't be a part of the Black Stars
Sports/Black Stars/Muntari
By: Godlove Bamfo Tetteh
Muntari should be forgiven but shouldn’t make AFCON
As the owners of English and Theologians put it, “to err is human and to forgive is divine,” so as Muntari has erred and needs to be forgiven by Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ghanaians.
Muntari exhibited what the GFA described as troublesome behaviour during Ghana’s participation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He was suspended indefinitely from the Black Stars after ‘an unprovoked physical attack’ on Black Stars management member Moses Armah Parker at the tournament. However, after two years of the incident, he officially released an apology letter on Tuesday 7th June to GFA and Ghanaians, adding that he is available to play for the Stars any day.
Based on the premise above, I think GFA needs to reconsider the apology letter of Sulley Ali Muntari and forgive him but they shouldn’t allow him to make an appearance for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.
I believe one may definitely asked why I am saying so. The reason is that, the 31 year old central midfielder who plays for Saudi Arabian club Ittihad FC has been Black Stars most influential player since making his debut for the Stars on 17th May, 2002 against Slovenia. Countless occasions has he misconducted himself against coaches, Black Stars management members and Ghanaians as a whole.
Therefore, a school of thought holds the view that the apology letter is a gimmick one by Muntari because he’s noted for that. In support to their point, this school of thought feels he has track record of indiscipline which led to him been dismissed from the team in Angola 2010 but turned a new leaf for South Africa 2010 which led to his inclusion in that final squad for the World Cup.
This same Muntari had a controversy with former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac at the 2010 FIFA World Cup by allegedly insulting Milovan following his decision to bench the Ittihad midfielder in Ghana’s World Cup matches against Serbia and Australia. A report according to German Newspaper Kicker claimed. Rajevac reacted timely by sending Muntari home after discussing the matter with the GFA.
In 2013, he was suspended again for showing gross disrespect towards former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah about been unhappy over his substitution in the course of the game during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Maseru. Nonetheless, he again apologised for that and was considered for Egypt vs Ghana game which eventually led to he been in the squad for Brazil 2014.
Then, in 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, a fight was ensued between him and Black Stars management team member, Moses Armah Parker over outstanding player appearance fees issue. This time he failed to render an apology on time which led to his exclusion of Ghana’s squad for the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea. He even turned down an opportunity to air his side of the story by declining an invitation to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry.
Now, after two years he has seen the importance of rendering an apology to GFA and the nation as a whole. Hence, he therefore opened up on his readiness to play for the Black Stars.
This has raised many concerns from sports analysts and Ghanaian football fans. About 70 per cent of football lovers in the country are saying he should be forgiven but not be allowed to play in the upcoming AFCON in Gabon.
Mr Kwesi Ghansah, a top up student at Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) said Munatri is a good and talented player which is not in doubt, but he thinks the GFA had no choice than to accept his apology and therefore it’s only the coach who has the mandate to select him. He sincerely added that, he would be happy if Muntari is not picked by the coach for AFCON 2017 because the team has moved without him and currently he is not as fit as they used to know him for.
Mr Samuel Delali Zigah, a football analyst at Class FM said he thinks GFA should treat Muntari’s letter as how they would treat any player on any day and secondly, he doesn’t think Muntari would be important in Gabon 2017 because the Stars have a solid team already and more so; he is not as fast as they thought he would be.
Mr Proper Senyo, also from GIJ said Muntari should be forgiven because, he has served the country for several years. Moreover, he wasn’t the only one faulted by the commission. The minister of sports was also faulted, but he’s also still in government, so why single out only players for punishment. “Is it because the powerful are above the law?” he quizzed.
“As for whether he should play in AFCON 2017 that should be the coach’s decision depending on his current form. If I were coach however, I won’t select him because we have already had a young and winning team. Muntari is now in his 30’s and cannot play forever. So we need to trust the young generation to carry on without the old generation,” he said.
Mr Mohammed Yusif, national service personnel at Urban Traffic Management also said “in order for GFA to prevent any more issues, they should accept the apology and afterwards tell him to apologise to Moses Armah Parker in a form of written letter to him. After Muntari doing all this, they should not give him call up until after the next AFCON.”
Mr Andrew Tagoe, a sports reporter at Vision One FM stated that GFA should accept Muntari’s letter. “We all make mistakes and if he finds it in his heart to apologise, then he should be forgiven no matter how long it took him,” he said.
“Personally, I think he is past it. We need to move on from the Muntari-Essien-Appiah generation and focus on this generation of stars,” He added.
However, about 30 per cent also held different views and they would wanted GFA to forgive Muntari and be included in the 2017 AFCON squad on the basis of experience.
Head of Sports at Radio Windy Bay in Winneba, Bright Kojo Fugar said he thinks Muntari needs to be forgiven as well as been given the second chance.
“We as a country should realise that it has been of 30yrs since we have the Black Stars being kings of Africa if not to be crowned champions at any minor or major football tournament. In chatting the map to conquer at AFCON 2017, Ghana will need experienced assets like Muntari, Paintsil and who knows Michael Essien in one capacity or the other,” he said.
Mr Thomas Fordjour, a public relations student at GIJ also said that he thinks the GFA should accept Muntari’s apology letter and play in the 2017 AFCON as well.
“Trust me, I would be extremely thrilled to see Sulley called back in the national team for the AFCON 2017 because, his experience is invaluable to the team,” he said. “Sulley has participated in all the major competition Ghana had been at. From qualifying to AFCONs and World Cups. Not forgotten he’s chipped some memorable goals along the way against Czech Republic in 2006 and Uruguay in 2010.
“Again, I think the quality we have in midfield now is not enough which makes it even more important to call Sulley back into the national team,” he added.
Finally, Mr Justice Annan, a final year student at University of Education, Winneba said he would want to see Muntari at the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
“In my candid opinion I want the FA to do away with their selfish interest and accept the apology at once,” he said.
“I would want to see him in Gabon because, we need experience in the senior national team if it’s our priority as a country to win the 2017 AFCON. We also need competition amongst the players to avoid complacency,” he added.
Well, no man is perfect on earth and I don’t stand at a perfect position to declare whether Muntari should make 2017 AFCON or not. The power lies in the hands of the Coach Avram Grant but I think Muntari’s case has become unbearable now, thus, he needs to be excluded from the upcoming AFCON and be monitored for some time to see if he’s really remorseful for his action then that the nation could give him another opportunity may be for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Again, it’s clear that Ghana has already built the Black Stars with young players such as Christian Atsu, Andre Dede Ayew, Wakaso Mubarak, Frank Achempong, Afriyie Acquah and Kwadwo Asamoah who might possibly return from injury for the AFCON. In view of this, Muntari’s position has been sealed by these player. So the question is, who sacrifice his position for him?
Lastly, I think his presence would not be needed because after all Ghana has made it to the finals of the AFCON two time without his inclusion. Muntari played for the Stars in 2006 AFCON, but the Stars were eliminated from the competition at the group stage. He also played in the 2008 AFCON which was hosted by Ghana and the Stars finished third. But the nation moved all the way to the finals of the 2010 AFCON in Angola and 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea without his service and they won silver.
With this, I am sure readers are much convinced that Muntari should be forgiven but shouldn’t make 2017 AFCON in Gabon?
